  service was good, food was ordinary, understand its a fine dining restaurant but the portion was way too small, overpriced. The risotto was very plain, could not taste any flavour. 1 star for good service, 1 for good atmosphere. Missing 3 stars because I won't go there again.

  My partner and I stayed here as a mid week relax, we found the staff to be very helpful and polite. The gas fireplace was on when we first walked in that gave a warm welcoming feel, as it was a mid week stay we did not get the chance to eat at the restaurant as it was closed, the breakfast basket was delivered at 9am to the room. The sound of the birds in the morning and afternoon are very active and a peaceful, there is video footage of both (the one on the glass table is morning). "this does not seem to let me upload video footage" We will be going back as it is very close to home. Very quiet and peaceful. Staff friendly and helpful. Close enough to shops (restaurants etc) if you wish to head out for a bite or drink. 1.4 kilometers Calling the day before is advised as they can move your check-in time earlier, I moved ours to 9am, though we didnt check-in until 12pm anyway. A mid week stay I would NOT recommend should you wish do use the retreats facilities (restaurants) as it is closed for both breakfast and dinner. Just check with staff for correct opening times. All in all two thumbs up :) :)

  My wife and I go here at least once a year. Service is almost always spectacular and the food is equally exceptional. With the degustation menu your guaranteed to end up enjoying something that most likely you would never have considered ordering.

  Absolutely beautiful, all the little touches didn't go unnoticed. When we walked into the room for the first time the fire was on to make it cosy and warm, this was the feel throughout our stay! We will definitely be back. The only thing that was a little unpleasant was the smell of a dead animal right next to our cabin. But we only smelled it when we were walking to and from the car. I also would have liked to have had some cold water into the fridge, I had to use the water from the bathroom tap. Very happy with the customer service, very friendly and prompt in meeting all of our needs!
